Dear Parents of Elementary Students,
I am so excited about all the Usborne orders that came in! There were orders placed for 31 students. This catalog Book Fair has been a tremendous boost for the Library. I am looking forward to receiving many new Free Books for your children to enjoy. A lot of our books are getting quite worn out and it will be great to put some new ones on the shelf. Throughout the rest of this school year, I am sure your children will delight in checking out and bringing home these new books as soon as they arrive and I can process them.
Thank you for making this a successful fund raiser for our school Library. I put the orders in the mail last Friday and they should arrive at the Usborne consultant’s address on Monday the 23rd. Hopefully, she will get the books to us within a week of that. I will keep you up-to-date.
Your Happy Librarian,
Ruth Rupp

* PHOTO CONTEST! Jostens is hosting the 2010 Photo Contest for 6th through 12th grade students. Students have an opportunity to have their photos published and win up to $1,000 cash and more! They are looking for candid shots of 1) Student Life/Activities 2) Academics/Community Service 3) Sports: Athletes in Action 4) School Spirit 5) Nature shots , etc. Photos must be original photos taken by the student! If your child is interested in this opportunity, see Jill for an application. All entries must be postmarked by March 1, 2010. You can submit up to 3 photos per category, which greatly enhances your chances of winning! This is a great opportunity for the aspiring photographers in our student body!
* NEEDED! PAPER PLATES! Our secondary (7th-12th grade) students have LOTS of parties and special meals in their classes at random times throughout the year. They always come to the office to ‘borrow’ paper plates! Unfortunately, these borrowed plates cannot be reused on pizza day, which is what the office buys plates for. Pizza day rolls around and we have no plates! To help us out of this dilemma, we are asking that each student bring in a package of 100 cheap paper plates to their Bible teacher. This way there will be plates available in each classroom for all party days! We aren’t going to keep track or hunt you down if your child doesn’t bring in plates, but we’d just ask everyone to help us out in this way. Thanks so much for your help!
* 34 SHOPPING DAYS LEFT TILL CHRISTMAS!
